Our Story

The College was established in 1999 as a School by the first Executive Governor Sen. Dr. Abdullahi Adamu with a backup laws enacted in 2002. Law supporting the formation was passed in 2002. The Law was reviewed by the previous administration in 2015 and 2019, respectively, to elevate the status of the School to College, and the Governor, His Excellency Engr. A. A. Sule, revised the Law to reflect the current upgrade.

The College offers 11 distinct professional health courses, with awards ranging from a diploma to a higher national diploma. The students receive training to provide support to secondary health care institutions as well as services in primary healthcare facilities. For the National Diploma, Professional Bodies and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) have both recognized all programs.

Collaborations

The management of the College use the law as advocacy tool to collaborate with;

⋅ Universal Basic Education (UBE) Abuja where they construct Girls Child Community Centre with equipment and solar powered worth 52M and has been put to use as an entrepreneur Centre of the Collage.

⋅ Federal Ministry of Science and Technology Abuja supplied the College with ICT and E-learning equipment worth 20M through (NBTI) National Bureau for Technical Incubation Agency.

⋅ National Primary Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) supplied 72 items of clinic materials including motor cycle as an intervention to the College.

⋅ National Agency for Science Engineering Infrastructures (NBTI) Trained 50 of our staff on health Information ICT Management at no cost as intervention to support the College.

The prepare human resources for primary and secondary health facilities through accredited programmes supported by the State, National and International organizations response to human health needs and development utilizing the capacities of its academic staff to meet up with the rapidly expanding challenges of the dynamic world.

THE INSTITUTION

The institution is owned by Nasarawa State Government. Its establishment is aimed at training of middle-level human resources for its primary and secondary health care delivery system.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

To provide path of instruction & training to produce qualified middle level human resources to man primary Health Care facility and to lend support to the secondary and tertiary health care system of the state and the Nation at large.
